Here is a story that I wrote at school today and finished for homework:
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Today so far, school has been BORING and now, in ‘Big Write,’ I’m hoping for a twist…
Boom! Lightning lit the classroom and everybody was screaming: I had been hit!!! One moment I was surrounded by green lightning; the next I was in the middle of a game of soccer, in the Jo’burg stadium!
It was a game that had been played over a week ago – Germany v England – and I was the ref! The England team were advancing to the goal and the goalie was in a bad position. Gerrard shot… the air was full of anticipation. The ball bounced once, hit the top bar, bounced in then out again… GOAL!!! I blew my whistle. The score was 2-2 and England were going in for a third. Rooney was on the warpath…
He shoots. The goalie dives for it and the ball ricochets around the net! 3-2 to England, and they are soaring in for another. In fifteen minutes England scored a record sixteen goals and Germany one: the score is 19-3. The game went on to a brilliant finish, and England got to the semi’s with Spain…
I don’t need to write about this game: Rooney scored 7 goals, and his coach fainted. Spain are Number One in the world, and the predictors have all died of heart attacks. Paul the Octopus has been shot! Spain had only 7 goals, which is still amazing because we think the England goalie has developed superpowers! The final score is…
SPAIN 7 – 12 ENGLAND
The final… I have been chosen for linesman in the final!!! I feel so proud of myself! Holland has qualified for the final. A Holland – England game could go bad!
In the first half I was amazed at the Dutch skill… They were absolutely outstanding! By the end of the first half the score was 7 – 7. In the second half Schneider scored a perfect goal – centimetres from being offside, he flicked it up and headed it home! This game just gets worse and worse… Three minutes later Joe Cole scores! It was kicked in from the corner and he caught it on his boot and sent it flying to the net! An equaliser! My hopes are soaring! The game went into extra time and the Orange Lions kept advancing! Robben shot to score… and suddenly the crowd stopped roaring… The ball stopped too… Time had frozen!
I walked across the pitch and pushed the ball through the air to outside the Dutch goals. I even rearranged the guys on the pitch! As soon as I stepped over the sideline, time began again! AND THE ENGLISH SCORE!!! The commentator’s voice echoed around the stadium. Extra time ended with a final score of 8 – 9 to England. WE HAD WON!
There was a flash of lightning and I was back in the classroom… Ludwe leaned over the table and said, “Hey, Nathan, did you watch that England/Holland game?”
Later on I found two strange metal devices in my pockets. Were these causing my good luck (not getting vaporised in lightning, but going back in time instead)?
